You are warmly invited to join us at the OSU Extension-Lane County Master Food Preservers Tasting Buffet and Auction Fundraiser next Sunday, November 8, from 4-7! This year, we’ll be at the Elks Lodge on W. 11th, a much larger space than the one we rented at Midtown last year. We’re hoping this will relieve most of the crowding and long lines.
I wrote a recap of last year’s event here. It was really fun, and the food always represents some of the best we have to offer here in the Willamette Valley. If you’re interested in discussing preservation, learning more about classes and future events, tasting a wide range of foods that can be preserved, or just drinking cider, eating tamales, and bidding on silent auction items, come on by!
I’ll be manning a table specializing in holiday gifts in a jar. We’ll be sampling vinegars, oils, and mustards, and I’ll be talking about homemade trail mix. A group of students from my University of Oregon Honors College freshman group interested in local cooking will also be volunteering! I’m so glad to have them participate.
Tickets are $15 a person/$25 a couple, and you’ll eat your fill. Tickets available at the door or buy ahead of time at OSU Extension Service, 950 W. 13th, at Newman’s Fish Co., or Long’s Meats.
