Totally agree. What did you make? They are so good just steamed or grilled.

We’re purists. Just steamed. On second thought, we’re also former Marylanders, so we used Old Bay. I have to agree with my husband that blue crabs are just a skosh more delicious than dungeness, but we’ll take either.

    Dear Eugenia,
How long can I store fresh caught, cooked crab in the freezer?

Maria, you can store commercially frozen crab about 3 months in the freezer; non-commercially frozen crab doesn’t keep as long, especially if you have a non-sub-zero freezer. Personally, I’d store it no longer than a month.

To answer your other question, I buy most of my spices at penzeys.com, a spice distributor out of the Midwest (Minnesota? Wisconsin? I’ve forgotten). They have savory there. Also try local health food markets with bulk herbs, like Sundance or Friendly Street Market.
