to market, to market, to buy a fat tofu

My Asian pantry having run low, I went to Sunrise yesterday to stock up. I bought, among other things I might be forgetting:

  • firm and soft Tacoma tofu
  • fresh bean sprouts
  • big bag of baby bokchoy
  • large scallions (like bokchoy, much cheaper and fresher than elsewhere)
  • kabocha squash
  • fresh ginger (keeps well in the freezer, but this will go toward honey-ginger syrup)
  • big jar radish chunk kimchi
  • shirataki noodles
  • cooking sake
  • rice vinegar
  • Madras papadum
  • roasted green peas (didn’t look carefully and bought the ones without wasabi)
  • large rice crackers
  • baby corn
  • thinly sliced bamboo shoots
  • roasted crushed peanuts
  • fried tofu
  • tamarind concentrate (easier but far less tasty than real tamarind paste)
  • green curry paste
  • Kokuho Rose Japanese rice

And that ends our Sunrise shopping expedition report. Arigato very much and good day.
