    Carpano is Carpano Antica Formula, the original vermouth. Made by the Punt e Mes mfg. but in a cork-finished liter bottle, it is a Red Vermouth, but not very sweey, mostly complex & bitter. The Martini he speaks of is Martini & Rossi sweet (red) vermouth, not Cinzano.
